Roswell Retreat Near the Lake

To start, our original booking was through Airbnb. This reservation was cancelled due to "renovations", and we were switched to this property/booking agency and were moved to a different property. The whole thing felt a bit off to me. I will start with the positives: The original property we booked came with a Pack and Play and a crib. The property manager for this property was responsive and made sure that we had both (even though the crib did not arrive until 7:00 PM, and then had to be disassembled and reassembled to fit through the bedroom door). Nonetheless, they were true to their word and had places for both babies to sleep. Tiana was great about answering calls and texts and check-in was easy. The backyard was beautiful. Now to the negatives: This was the filthiest property I've ever stayed in. There were dust bunnies and globs of hair behind the doors and we killed 2 roaches in the bathrooms. The beds and pillows were horribly uncomfortable and the bed linens smelled musty and dirty. We feel certain they were not washed or changed from the previous inhabitants. Two out of three toilets had broken seats (only one side screwed in), so they slid to the side upon use. We were supplied so little toilet paper that couples had to share a roll between all 3 bathrooms by the 2nd day. There were no towels in any bathrooms, so we had to go searching the closets for where they were kept. One shower was blocked and did not drain. Another shower didn't have any soap (I suppose this isn't a requirement, however, I have never stayed at a rental that didn't supply basic toiletries in the bathrooms). The listing advertised a washer/dryer, but there was no laundry detergent. The corner of the lower living room smelled distinctly like live vermin. Overall myself and my friends were quite appalled by our stay. Please, please save your money and find a different property.
